    Shindy Valves, good or bad?

Like it says, looking for opinions on Shindy valves. I have searched it, only got results on pistons.

My 110 desperately needs new valves. I see these Shindy valves on ebay for what seems to be a descent price for a set.

Worth using, or pass em by?

    Thanks

I second that... I believe the valves on the last top end i put together were Shindy... atc007 can answer that, he did the machining for me.. LOL!!!

I put a Shindy piston in that 200ES as well, again atc007 acquired that for me along with the bore and hone. Pretty sure the last set of valves i did myself were Shindy also for a 110 because it was all i could find in a hurry on eBay that seemed like a reputable brand name, they have not given me any trouble. Nor has the set in the 200ES, and the owner has been working her hard.

I am doing a rebuild on my 200ES as well, almost done collecting parts, mine gets Shindy valves if the head needs it also.

    Hello RIDE-RED 250r

Shindy’s are made in Japan, never used them but have never seen a bad Japanese engine part. I’d use them in a minute.

    Link to the importer.

Below is a quote from M.Pargiello he made on a post regarding OEM valves I supplied links to.

    Thanks Barnett.

My gut was telling me they would be good to use, but having never heard of them before I wanted to seek the wisdom of my 3ww family. I'll be ordering a set in the next few days.

Thanks again for the replies fellas!

    Hello RIDE-RED 250r

You're very welcome, didn't really do much though.

Yeah the name doesn't really make it even sound like a quality part like "Indy Turbo Valves" or something does it? Actually sounds kinda girly to me, lol.

Yeah, with all the shoddy knock-offs out there sometimes it's hard to know for sure if a part is worth the trouble, especially when the price seems almost too good to be true.....

I will be asking soon where to send a NOS 350X head for larger valves and porting as well as hopefully a FCR carb off a 450F.

My motor now is super, very zippy, but I'm certain it could flow more......

I may have considered the 400 kit but I wanted it tested by other members 1st and I don't know if more will be made. Plenty of power to be found elsewhere.

I'm not necessarily looking to make more power with the lil 110. Just been having issues with it not wanting to idle worth a darn. So I did a little exploratory surgery this weekend after checking and double checking things like carb and ignition timing...

Found my valves are pretty badly worn. I actually had a large amount of carbon buildup on the back side of the intake valve... yeah, you read right! LOL! So, between the loss of compression it is certain to have, and with that blow-by back-feeding into the intake and consequently the carb, I am certain this is the cause of the machine not wanting to idle no matter what I did. I also noticed that it seemed down on power in the higher gears, even in low range.

She should run like new when I get the new valves installed and lapped in!

Just noticed this thread and will add my .02. Shindy is a great Japanese product. I trust them with anything their name is on. For the record, I also use Vesrah gaskets as they are a high quality Japanese gasket set at half the price of cometic or OEM.
