Has anyone ever had this problem?

I was out riding my 250r and the seat assembly came off while doing a donut! That is a first for me and before I got stopped the fenders went under the rear tires. Luckily, they only got a couple light scratches but I don't know how to prevent this from happening again. My seat is secured pretty good and the seat latch has never failed me before but that was a weird feeling having it all just slide right off the side! lol I was leaning of the left side pretty far with my right leg being the only thing really on the seat. So when the seat let go, my left foot almost slipped off its peg cause it scared the crap out of me! I didn't know what the heck was going on. I'm just glad my fenders and seat came out fine!

Happened to me on my 1st 250SX..bouncing along thru a plowed field. I was paying more attention to the navigating the ruts and went to sit back down..almost sat on the air box.

There was my seat/fenders on the field 50ft behind me.

I now use zip ties on the seat latch assy to avoid repeat!

If the seat latch assembly and lever spring is good, that shouldn't happen because the rear seat mount posts sit inside of the rubber donuts on the frame.

We simply used a big rubber band back in the day. Holds the lever secure, slides right off when you want to remove the seat.
Please help those who cannot help themselves.

ALWAYS buying Museum quality machines,3 and 4 wheels. And any and ALL ,NOS parts,EVERY brand.

there are kits people have mad, i think they are sold in 3ww store. I've had custom latches done so they dont fall off. most times if you dont need quick release an alum plate with some welded on tube thats treaded and some turn wheels is what people use to use back in the day who raced.
