on a 84 big red, how many balls are in the upper and lower races of the steering head? i thought i got them all, which was 40(20 on top, 20 on bottom), but i found 3 more on the floor later.
i think its supposed to have 21. can anyone verify that?

dont you love thoes greasy balls? i like it when you have all of them on the bottom tree and then go to put it up into the frame and acidently bump it and all the balls fall out and get everything greasy, then get dirt on them to top it off.

Yep I love it when that happens.........thats why i replaced my loose bearings with ones in a cage........i like it when you have all of them on the bottom tree and then go to put it up into the frame and acidently bump it and all the balls fall out and get everything greasy, then get dirt on them to top it off.
