On the 85 BR I just picked up, there is a black tube that is unconnected beneath the carb. I traced it back, and it connects into the top of the shaft drive. Is this the carb drain line, or a vent for the shaft?

On the 85 BR I just picked up, there is a black tube that is unconnected beneath the carb. I traced it back, and it connects into the top of the shaft drive. Is this the carb drain line, or a vent for the shaft?

Diff vent. Was routed up under the tank,along with the rear brake vent.
Please help those who cannot help themselves.
