    86 fourtrax 200sx motor swap

Wonder if the 86 200sx motor us a direct swap or really close swap into a 85 200x frame?
I was given a rough 86 200sx with a running motor. Now I'm a triker, so was thinking how nice an auto x with electric start and reverse would be.
Has anyone here tried this? Any info would be great.
    Thanks

I would say 83-85 200x is not going to be very close. 86-87 may bolt right in. Even if it doesn't bolt in it would be close.

Oldskool that is one of the issues. I don't haveva 200x frame lying around. I do however have a complete 350x roller i could try. Might.be better in the long run too.

    Put a TRX250x or 300ex in that 350x frame.

I do not believe they will fit in an 83-85 200X. LeeVarnardo (sp?) was trying combinations to get electric start working but I have not seen him on the boards for quite sometime.

A big roomy 350X frame should not be an issue.......

Did anybody truly ever find out about this motor swap into a 185s/200s or even 200x? -What would it take to put the motor in a 185/200 frame or 83-85 X frame? Or is there not enough space for the starter to clear back mount? -Or are the mounts completely different? No real questions were ever answered? Sounds like someone tried it-I think? (fabbed up motor mounts maybe?????)- but couldnt get the starter working (on what ATC was it?)

There is a thread on here of a member that put one in an 86 200x frame. But to put one in anything else would require making new engine mounts

do it. I use my x on trails, ditches, woods, fields, creeks, and dirt hills at the local dirt pit and to have electric start and reverse would be ultimate. make the motor mounts cram that sucker in there take some pictures and show us how you did it.

I recall the thread, and he disappeared as well or I never saw the conclusion.
