My friend's Z is leaking some oil from the hose right above the stator on top of the motor at the bottom of the cylinder. I thought that hose was used for vent the casing below the cylinder? Any ideas on the cause of the leak?

i just looked at some cases I have, and yeah its a trans vent.. So yeah to much oil? or maybe it was upside down and a little left in the hose? What if there was a leak between the crank case and the trans? Could that force oil out the vent, or would that suck oil in?

If its over full it will spit it out at High RPM's...it is the trans vent.

OK. Thanks. He said it doesn't leak while it's running or revving but after he shut it off. He came back and found a small puddle under the bike.
