Id go get it, thats not bad deal and i bet you could talk him down a lil bit too. Honestly if i had the money and time id go get it. Id make her nice and clean put a new seat cover on it and make everything work on it and then use it has a mudder or trail rider.

You buy these ones because you love the machine and enjoy doing the work..rarely does it ever work out cheaper to fix them up than to buy them in good condition.

If u can get it cheaper, even better! I'd probably make it a real clean machine and mostly
    stock if its solid mechanically.

I have ostracized the 225 from my collection. Not because they aren't a sweet machine because i actually love them, but because they don't make plastics for them.

i think if i got it, i could make it look at least decent, and John 4, they dont make any more plastics for them? i wonder if any other yamaha front fenders would work, id assume they would be the same as a 200 or a 175 or something, but maybe ill talk to the guy and see whats up

They do not make plastics for them anymore. I bought a new set 4 years ago from Yamaha of Troy but they no longer exist. Got everything but the side skins which are holding up my rebuild. In addition, they dont make fork boots for them either. However, these bikes are my favorite. If you are patient, you can find what you need.
