    I got me a 1982 250r and I love it!

I traveled 200 miles to get this thing and 200 miles to get it back home. She runs like the wind and its pretty fast. I don't know an awful lot about the early R's, but I know there are a ton of guys on here that do. I know enough to know the intake boots are known to crack. This one is cracked, but not yet through all the way. If anybody has an intake boot to sell I would be the buyer!
It needs swingarm bearings too, but eBay only has the needle bearings which is great, but I need/want the bushings and seals too, so I'm hoping someone cat point me in the right direction!
I'm also pretty sure this exhaust is something special. The guy I got it from said it is some special spiral design, so I am looking for conformation from some of you guys!
Here are some pics and please don't bust my about the trail pros, its how i bought it. Lmao!

That engine looks like its in great shape. Not 100% on the pipe, but then again im a noob when it comes to first gen 's. Once you get those rear tires off it looks like it will be a great machine!

Were the Trail Pros the only aftermarket tire offered in the 80's? lol I swear 90% of the three wheelers I have seen are outfitted with them. Nice 250r O. P, I haven't ever seen, much less ridden a first gen before.

I'm just gonna throw this question out there again...

Does anybody know a good source for getting an intake boot? Isn't there any other machine that uses the same one like maybe an old CR 250 or something?

I also need to find a source for getting the swingarm bearings and bushings. Anybody know???

Check out @irfoolers.com(regular a). The add plugins do something weird when you spell it out. I think the intake from an old odessy works but they're pretty pricey too.the pipe looks like a bassani but I'm no expert either.

You got the best aftermarket pipe you can get for the 1st generation R--a Bassani. I got my R nearly a year ago and love it. It came with a stock pipe but I found an NOS Bassani on ebay. The difference between the stock pipe and the Bassani is night and day. Once you get into the engine you should open it up with some porting, get a larger carb, perhaps a DG head (there is one on ebay right now). I'm building mine to be an old-school mx-er. Man that's a sweet trike! I intend on going through mine right after I finish up my tri z build. My pockets are only deep enough for one project at a time. Lol. Thanks for the inspiration!

I've been getting a few things done on my 82 r. I changed the hubs to 200x hubs and now have 200x rims on it too, got rid of the trail pros, and picked up a desert tank. Between this and my tri z I am about broke! Lmao...

What is the name brand on that tank? Did you pick it up new or get it used on ebay?
