Dumont or Glamis. Hollywood used Dumont Dunes for a lot of movies. In the early 90s my brother, girlfriend and myself went camping at Buttercup and saw the last day of filming a movie called Stargate. Not the series but the actual motion picture. House fire destroyed most of my pics but I will see if my brother has any pics.

I remember a rumor back when the movie came out you could see tracks in the background of one of the sand scense. Have to find a first release version to try and find it - I'm sure IF tracks were there, "they" edited them out of the digital re-released versions.

ok, after some nerd research, i learned that the scene was filmed in a dessert in Tunisia, which is on the Mediterranean in north africa. pretty crazy. and yes, leia was smoking hot then. i read that she was 19 in star wars. that makes her about 24 in that pic. i wonder what happened to the honda. any north african members on here ? wherever it is, id bet it has held up better than carrie fisher.
