ok guys, i need an honest opinion here. Totally unbiased because i know a lot of you bleed red here, but what do you think the better machine is, besides part availability. the Honda 200x, or the Yamaha 225dx/dr. let me know what you think

My opinion would favor the 200x, especially if it's a second gen... But that is only because I prefer sportier machines, not because I bleed red.
I think a more equal comparison would be between the 225dx and 250sx. Those 2 machines' design focus are much more comparable than between the 200x and 225dx.

Well, I have never rode either 225dx/dr before and I do indeed bleed red but I would get the 200x. Mine 86 is so awesome that I don't even ride my 84 250r (if my 200x is working). Honestly, and now that the idea has poped into my head, I wouldnt mind trading my 250r for another 86-87 200x! Im actually going to put a post on here now about trading it.
The funny thing is I was just out riding my 250r for about 20 minutes or so hauling ass through a corn field.
Anyhow, I absolutely love my 200x. Six gears, its lightweight, very nimble and jumping with it is awesome. Im a little nervous to jump my 250r because its so heavy and I just feel more comfortable on my 200x.
Good luck 83.
It all depends on what you want, they say that the dx and 200x go about the same speed, I love my dx and I personally think they can handle more weight than a 200x. But everyone's opinion is gonna be different, but that's just mine.

I have never rode a 200x but I do have a 225 dr and I love it. But I love the sportier look of the 200x. But since I have not rode a 200x I have to choose the 225dr. But looks wise 200x hands down.
I personally cannot stand any of the yamaha 3 wheelers. I feel like, yes, they are good machines. But they are just not up to the reliability and quality of the Hondas. If I had a choice of 200x, or 225dr/dx I would pick the Honda, all day long, everyday.
I don't bleed red, i really do like yamahas, I just can't stand the 200 or the 225 3 wheelers. I will NEVER even think about buying another one.
200x has better suspension, more mods can be done ( ie, extended axle, swingarm, suspension, different motors ( any 200 series minus the 200es ) hub availability, wheel availability, fork springs, cam, valves, timing, fenders, etcetc etc. )
Plus I can't stand their design of the rear differentials.
But, the 200x does not have reverse. So that is a plus for the yamaha... But i'm pretty sure even a 10 year old can push a 3 wheeler backwards.

I have owned both of them machines.. the X is definitely the sporty of the 2, but when trailriding cant beat that electric start on the 225 w muddy boots lol
Its got to be your decision, depending on riding conditions and riding style..
Good luck!
