84 200es Battery Drain Tube Grommet

Has anyone seen or heard of this part for the 84 200es big red? I have looked in the parts manual under FRAME where it shows the skid plate no grommet is shown in the parts. When you look under HARNESS@RECTIFIER it shows the pipe breather tube for the battery but no grommet there either. Maybe someone has a picture of one or maybe even one for sale?

I just looked at mine, i couldn't quite get a picture of it, but down by the frame by the left rear tire there is a hole in the skid plate, thats the lower frame tube in that diagram, and there is a rubber grommet installed into that hole of the metal skid plate for the tube to sit in. The rubber grommet is missing on mine, never noticed it before, the tube is just sitting in the hole. I could easily go get a grommet from my assortment box and put it in that hole and put the tube back in though, not a big deal. Its just there to keep the tube pointed down and below the frame so any spillover from the battery won't drip onto everything.

Is it in one of the bigger holes? It measures 1 3/16 inch in diameter. That hole is in the skid plate directly in line with the bracket that is mounted to the battery to hold the tube. Should there be a grommet in that bracket also that is made onto the battery box? Is the tubing a hard type tube or more like vacuum line or something else maybe?

The non-sealed batteries have a vent tube and the grommet is to retain that vent tube but if you have a sealed lead acid battery, the vent tube isn't there. Typically the vent tube is a clear poly tube or a rubber tube.

Yep thats the hole my tube is hanging down through, its a softer poly tube like flyingw said. I will probably be replacing my battery with a sealed one and the vent tube will go with this POS of a battery i have now anyway.

There is no grommet in the bracket on the battery box that holds the tube, nor is there supposed to be, its just sitting in that.
