    Kawasaki 3 wheelers

Ive been seeing some cheap kawasaki 3 wheelers, not tecates, but like klt 200 and 250s. Are these good 3 wheelers, or are they garbage? hard to find parts for? i dont know much about them, and im thinking having one might be alright, what are your opinions, the more the better!. Thanks.

Yea... those parts are hard to find... best to start looking online, junkyards and posting on free ads sites.

I know someone that has one ... its one of the 250's with the weird hoop behind the front tire ( part of the suspension ) .... it ran good for the first couple days and now all he has is problems with it. If its a Tecate then i say yes, those parts you can find, but the others , I'd have to pass.

I'm personally partial to Honda's but i have ridden Kawa's, but what would scare me about owning one is parts availability! Sure some of the Honda stuff isn't made by Honda anymore but there is tons of aftermarket parts and plenty of guys making repops of the parts to keep them going. The Honda's just have a larger following due to being more commonly available used as well i think. Around here all i see is Honda's usually. I saw a KLT200 sleeping in a barn under a few inches of dirt accumulation and asked the owner about it, he said one day the motor just quit... Then i asked him about the ratty Honda 185s next to it, despite worst physical condition i talked him out of the Honda, powerwashed it, got it running, and resold it in a matter of days. They just sell!

I've owned two klt 200 c2's and they were both stolen from me. Then I bought a project bike an 84 klt 250 c2 prairie. Parts are fairly difficult mechanically/electrically. But if you have imagination, creativity, money, and some skill you can make anything work. I know a lot of the 200/250 klt parts can change out. Also I've learned a couple of different Kawi bikes trikes and quads share ignition parts and the 250 rear end bolt pattern is 4x100 just like on most small cars and imports.
