    INFO NEEDED Kelvin Franks Chain Guide and slider

    Sometimes the details are what slows down a restoration. I need some info/help.

    The white rear swingarm chain guide- It looks to me like Kelvin made them. Does anyone here have this capability? What material is it? Are they machined with simple tools? I would appreciate someone leading me in the right direction of getting them remade. I will need 3 for sure and maybe 4.

    Green guard/slider- Well this is what Kelvin used so this is what I have to TRY to go with. It is thin and hand cut. Not very attractive given the quality of the rest of the machines. It is flexible. Does anyone recognize this material. Should be green i guess

    White sliders - looks like the regular ole white plastic that forward chain sliders are made of. Definitely wouldn't be too hard to reproduce if you've got the means to.

    Green slider - looks like play ground slide plastic. Or at least that's what I would use.

    Both of these assumptions are being made with not having them in hand to feel, and turn over and over ya know?

    The white one may just be normal plastic but it kinda looks like delrin to me. Simple tools? I doubt it. Sure you could make a rough one with simple tools, but you're talking about 3D drawings put into a VMC or other milling machine. It might be able to be 3D printed as well. either way, very expensive unless you have all the equipment already. The only other thing I can think of is molding, but thats expensive as well. I would think that these parts were molded originally, but I cant see the pic well enough to tell if its hand made.

    Like CJ said, unless I had the slider with me i couldn't do much. it doesnt look like it would be too hard to draw in autodesk inventor, maybe just a little time consuming, because i could measure and have more detail. Not sure of your ability in these things though.

    The biggest problem I can foresee with the flat green material is getting it in green (or any other color other then white). I just browsed around MSC site in the raw material section and come up with a yellowish/green material in plastic that appeared to be non memory so it could be twisted around a swing arm,,,

    The white stock Tri Z guide is reeeaaally close and bolts right up. I have one here...and you can buy them new. Those will do until I get around to having exact replicas made. For my profession we make hand splints. I am looking for a green splinting material right now for the swingarm guard.

    That's what I was thinking too and the only thing I could think of that you really see in that color is the play ground slides.

    Just found this....Here is a green (The forest is a bit darker but nice) Expensive...but I can buy a much smaller piece for around 85 and do all 3.

    you said you need 3 of the green ones, right? how wide are they each? just a thought question
    It would be possible to buy green fiberglass reinforced polyester like this (see link), cut it to length and width, drill the holes, then heat the middle to get it to bend. I'm not sure how well it will respond though. If other stuff is $85, then this for $25 should be a pretty good deal.
