My 3 wheeled childhood is back!

I'm a British Expat now living in beautiful Texas. I grew up in rural England with miles and miles of fields, mountains and moors to drive bikes around on. Our first bike was a red ATC 110 84' or 85' i believe. Me and my brother rode that thing after school everyday from the age of 11 upwards. We had many non serious accidents, covered many many miles and had a blast. It was always so dependable and the only thing that ever went was the pull starter which my dad fixed.

Fast forward 15 years and I now live in Texas with my Texan wife. I've started hunting and needed something to get around the 1sq mile deer lease on. Started looking on craigslist, nearly bought a new crappy chinese ATV for $500 reluctantly, and then by chance stumbled across a Honda ATC 110. It seemed like fate, a 35 minute drive and $300 later and she was mine. From seeing the add to tied down in the truck 2 hours later. Maybe i overpaid, maybe i underpaid, no idea.

So, here it is, 83' 110 in blue. I'm no mechanic, so I basically looked at it, saw it didn't appear to be seriously corroded anywhere in particular and said start her up. First time pull and drove it around a little. Sold. Since yesterday its not failed to start first time every time and appears to idle ok. Oil looks suspect so i'm going to change that tonight and put some Valvoline or Rotella 10-40 motorcycle in it.



So the good thing is she's a starter. The bad thing is, cosmetically, she needs a bit of work.

Plastics
As you can see from the pics, the back right fender is snapped off. On a deer lease in the winter, this means i'm going to get covered. Aside from buying a full new fender set ($140 - $200), has anyone got any suggestions for a semi permanent fix ? It doesn't need to look good, just prevent the crap flying!

Rack
I'd really like to haul the odd bag of corn about on this thing without having to sit on it! I've had a good old search and can't find much in the way of a rack for this thing, I gather it was optional originally. Is there any kind of option in the $100 range i could consider?

Right now she's going to be a workhorse, but having spent the last 24 hours on this site, I think i've already got the bug so when i've got the time and money i'll give it a good breakdown.

Any suggestions on the afformentioned Plastics and Rack situation would be appreciated!

That 110 looks great to me for $300.

I've seen people cut up plastic trash cans for fenders but, jeeze, it's ugly.

You might get luck and find something on CL that are correct (83/84 110 & 125 I believe) or can adapt (Chinese??).

I bet new, blue platics are hard to find.

Its easy enough to find plastics for, you can even get brand spanking new fenders that will fit it, problem is all your choices will be red! The Blue is a pretty rare deal, i have only seen one in person in all my years of collecting, trading and repairing trikes. They just arent very common around me, some guys on here might be hoarding some parts but blue fenders are always coveted parts that are hard/expensive to come by!

The aftermarket red fenders will also eliminate the trunk, its just not available as they were made. Try looking for a used set of 110 or 125M fenders on eBay, then you will still have the trunk if you want it. There is even a mmember of the forums reproducing the trunk lid and its associated parts.

Your only option otherwise is to go red and replace them. As for a rack, there was a hondaline rack for the 110/125 series that will fit it, not very common to find though, but they do show up on the market now and then. Overall i think you got a pretty decent runner for $300, slap on some fenders front and back and your in business. You could always take a set of red fender and paint them blue, but the paint doesn't hold up well and you will have scratched spots of red over time showing through.

Because it's a Honda, you did MUCH better buying it than the new Chinese stuff. You have a piece of ATV history, and a rare colored version. Enjoy your 110.

Carb is spotless outside which leads me to believe the PO cleaned it inside also. New oil, spark plug, fuel line and filters and she's a great runner. Like previously stated, hopefully someone here can help you out with rack and fenders. Welcome aboard!!

If it were just a regular red 110 I would tell you to lose the trunk and get mair fenders the trunk isn't that big anyway then if you need to hual stuff get you a trailer hitch and a small trailer and your good to go. But this one is blue so finding fenders is going to be a big big challenge. As far as a rack goes I see the hondaline rack on ebay all the time but might be a little pricy. If you end up spending alot on parts say 5 600 dollars. You have still spent far less than a new honda four wheeler and you fet the same if not better reliability.

For fenders find some white fiberglass sheets and trim them to the size of the missing fender material. Zip-tie them on and you will defiantly stay clean while riding. As for a rack, you might be able to weld a 2-inch receiver on the back of the frame and use a car rack

I like the blue fenders! I didn't know they were ever made. Maybe you could get a set of red fenders and have them painted blue to match the rest of your trike. I'm not sure how that would hold up though.
