The collection and a question

I thought I'd share some pictures of my collection, and ask a question. Sorry bout' them being sideways. Turn ya' head sideways I guess.
First up you see my 125m, a 82' 185, and a 200es Big Red.

Next you see the 83' 185s I picked up this past weekend for $300.

And then my 82' 200.

And finally, the one that started it all, another 83' 185s.


Now for my question, One of the 185s' have started burning oil, now it didn't really do that till we changed the oil, then, one day it wuld run for a quit, run for a while quit. Now it won't start unless you tow it.
Any thoughts?

Check your compression. It could be bad rings or valves.

It's got break arm compression.

It could still have good compression but bad oil rings. It has 2 compression rings, and 3 oil rings. Most of the time if it were the valve seals, it would smoke at cold startup, and would clear as the engine got warm.

Would that affect starting?
