    tire chains

Any one ever make there own tire chains? I saw a pic of a 200x with tracks yesterday and ever since then ive been thinking about traction for the winter coming up. we get a lot of snow up here in nothern B.C. I have this adea bouncing around in my head involving chain from an old garage door, then bolting on some stainlees steel bolts that i would cut and grind into a point. Any opinions or ideas?

Buy tire chains, it's way easier, I've been down that road before. You can get what's called a v-bar tire chain that work great in the snow and ice, I had a set on a big red when I was younger, it was a blast to drive in snow. Now I've got tracks on my Yamaha grizzly 660, this thing is a hoot in the snow, almost impossible to get stuck.
