    200X neutral

My 200X shifts fine and the clutch works fine but I can not get it into neutral. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

the clutch may be set to tight. if you can shift to neutral while you are still rolling then this is more than likely your problem. try adjusting the clutch cable

I don't mean to sound rude or insult your intellegance but you do know that the shift pattern goes 1-N-2-3-4-5 right?
Only reason I'm saying this is because you said it shifts fine. Maybe it's just hard to find it to you or it needs a slight adjustment.

Thanks for the reply. At age 40 something I understand shifting patterns. I will try the clutch cable.

Another thing it could be is a bent shifter shaft that the shifter bolts onto. If it drags some it might be hard to find the sweat spot. If it wiggles easy with the engine off then it should be fine I would suspect. Since clutch has already been said, I'll throw Oil out there, were you the last one to change the oil, and did you use proper atv oil? Some of the auto engine oil has friction modifiers in it that can effect how the clutches grab.

    Good luck!
