    250? Won't go into neutral

I'm going to look at a honda 250 today, the guy doesn't know if it's a big red or a sx, I have not seen pics offe it yet but he said it runs good but won't shift into neutral, now I'm pretty sure if I rock it back a forth it i can get it to shift. It has been parked outside for sometime. I'm wondering if anyone has herd of a 250 not shifting into neutral and if it will start in gear? My 225 dx will start in gear found that out the hard way. I'm hopping to pay 100$ for it I will post some pics I really hope it's an sx because all you ever find around here are 200's and the odd 250 big red

$100 for a machine is a steal even if it don't shift into neutral. You could part it out and triple your money easily.

Ya I would just keep it for parts, or restore it if its a 250sx, I really want one. He's asking 200 but I'm sure I can talk him down. who knows maybe it works fine and is in decent shape, one can only hope.

99 percent of the time it is an easy fix. The shifter pin behind the shifter shaft is either bent or broken. 8 dollars for the pin, 20 for the case gasket, and you're good to go. I would link you the item on parts schematic, but I am on my phone right now

Ok so the good news it that it shifts fine, the bad news is its an 83 200, not and 250sx. But it's still a good score for a 100$. It's got brand new ruber!!!177486[/ATTACH]Click image for larger version.

ID:	177486 I'm not sure if I'm going to fix it up or use it for parts for my other 83, the more I dig into the more I find wrong

That sucks that its not even a 250es or sx. Its a hardtail but still a good trike. I would say if your not interested in keeping it flip it for a quick profit rather than messing around trying to sell parts.
