    Man, you guys have some valid points. We need to email Honda on this one and ask them what the heck was going on! Maybe they won't even have an answer to this riddle

    I would have told you were crazy making such a claim if I didn't see it myself..

    But then a couple years ago I would have said an 88 250ES..impossible. But hanging in this site has shown me lots I thought as fact was wrong..

    Here is the I.D plate off one of my ATC70's. According to the plate build date it is an '87 model.

    doug, if it was you, no apologies necessary, no worries all around. that is wild stuff, pre-dating trikes. it doesn't make any sense to me. i understand post-dating, and i understand vin-tagging leftover, post-consent decree stock as latter year models overseas, i.e. 88 250ES. but why pre-date? was there any decree, or ban, or talk of a ban in europe? was pre-dating a way to sell off stock that would have otherwise been banned? or maybe a move by honda in preparation for a ban that didnt happen?? wild, wild stuff.
