    Silver Lake Dunes questions

Planning a trip in 2014, got any suggestions? What do I need to get on the dunes? Suggestions? I already have sand tires BTW. Is it worth going? How busy is it during the weekdays/weekend? Good places to tent camp in the area?
Thanks to any and all replies. I will update Q's if I think of more

If you live in the mid-west, then yes, you will enjoy Silver Lake. I / we go every year. I drive my truck out to the beach with my quad in the bed and unload on the beach. I set up a day camp for the family, and I get to ride. We go with four families....It has become a tradition. Our wives are all friends, and all of the kids are in the same age group. It will be crazy busy on holiday weekends, and it is busy most weekends as well. However, it is still very fun. There are great places to camp. There are a few hotels to stay at as well. We have stayed at the Dunes Waterfront and at the Sierra Sands. You will need a flag (You have to buy one of theirs or they will not let you in). You will need to get a Michigan ORV sticker for every machine going into the dunes. You will need to get vouchers to get into the park as well. It isn't too bad, it sounds worse than it is. Everything you will need for you stay is in town, and everyone is very friendly and willing to help.
