?? cleaning the outside of the big red engine??

I want to make my big red sparkle. Does anyone have any good cleaning ideas for the engine , cooling fins in particular. They seem aweful difficult to clean with the normal cleaners in my shop. thanks in advance

I used a long bristle brass brush to get the fins on the cylinder and inbetween, its labor intensive and takes time. But the only other way is to media blast all the aluminum to clean it up.

    pour some glitter on it

Seriously though, a long brush should be able to get back in there. If it cant, I say go for soap and pressure washer (preferably a heated one), just not too high of a pressure because it can take some of the paint off its its weakly held on there.
If you want to go all-out, like KB said you could have all the individual parts blasted and powdercoated or high-quality painted.
