hmmm maybe in usa i had to spend about 1000 bucks.... but here in germany i had to spend more than 5000 € for all those parts wich where weard when i bought my 83`200X... Prolink swingarm, ngk power ignition, new wound strator, cobra exhaust, plastics, bearings, clutch, engine overhaul, axle, rims, front tire (as i never saw a worn rear tire on a atc ), kickstarter, Headlights, tail lights asembly (blinkers, breake lights most of all lights are LED based so they dun consume so much energy)...... ow how i wish to live in usa where a trikerider can get parts in shops and doesnt have to buy them overseas, and at last where i can ride wherever u want :?

In the wisdom of "Mr. Spock", to buy a trike for $600, spend $1000 restoring and modifying it, and ending up with something worth $900 when youre finished would seem "highly illogical", but I seem to be one of only a few who harbor this type logic!

i do the same. i get a cheap trike and spend more than what i paid for it in parts.

i dont know why but it just happens that way. its fun to buy parts and restore a bike.

    thanks,

I would say I am at about $1200 right now. It is not running, has no front brakes, no rear fenders, and crappy rear tires. I am looking at another $300 to $400 more to have a nice 200x.

I've got about $1500 in my '86 200x. Little things just add up. I like it to run perfectly and look almost as good.

yup, just imagine i`ll tryed to get an oem atc 200x rear plastic...they said its an 2 piece part now and one side will cost about 450 € thats about 550 $ for one side... 1100 bucks for the complete fender.... or the swingarm OEM ONLY for 800 $ cool huh... ow and i saw an atc 90 (or was it a 70 dunno wasnt that cool at all) selled in ebay (it was realy worn had no tires a broken fender and a bend exhaust) for only 3500 € cool huh....theyre a bit crazy about them cuz u only can drive those trikes if u got them listed (u know so u get a number plate on the back...dunno how else i can tell it) before 1987 cuz we got a bit more trouble with the (uhm maybe its telled so) street aproval (or admission dunno) here in germany then in usa....
I think i`m the only one with a trike (except those mad chopper trikes) here in my town (dresden is the capital of saxonia).
the only quads i saw here is an grizzly 2 raptors and 2 or 3 blasters.... so it seems to be quite special to have such a trike here in germany...

so heres my advice: if u know the shipping costs for such a trike put them up in ebay.de and earn a bit money... i can write u the German Text too if cha want.....

personaly i dont think a 200x is worth wasting that much $$$ on unless you really really love the 200x, performance wise you would be better off just upgrading to a bigger trike.
looking for a TRI-Z 250 to restore at the moment

I wish i never started to dump money into my 200x. i have really been thinking about parting it out. I can not $500 for it but i have receipts for more. i have lost interest in it a little cuz i like to go fast. but when you start a project you never know how bad it is until you tear into it. i sure i will get mine going sometime.
