    Trikeavator custom loft storage

Been workin on this in my head for a while and finally made it reality. Uses a 880 lb. overhead electric hoist mounted to re enforced parts of the trusses. The rail is stanley box channel and rollers used in sliding barn door applications. The platform is various parts of angle, 1" steel pipe and such. Opened up a lot of room on the floor!! Gotta really great cool factor also My wife rode up and down on it and just shook her head Loft is 16x8 with 2x8 joist 16" on center and 4x6 posts.

Here is a sideways video...sorry..I still have a vintage flip phone..

Very cool... I work with a lady who's husband collects classic cars. He has a two story garage with a car elevator in it. Made me think about a project like yours where I can store trikes in the loft above my detached garage. This way I can work on my car without having to move a bunch of stuff around.

It works very well. I wanted a loft high enough to walk under so that made ramps out of the question, to steep. All said I have around 250.00 in it. 130.00 for winch and the rest for rail and rollers. Steel I had lying around. Really beats climbing the ladder also!

Very high on the cool scale! What is the platform dim? Will it lift the big boy trikes?

Dimensions are 48" by 30". It was built for only the mini's....alt's,zingers and the atc 70's. I wanted to be able to walk under my loft rather than make it lower. There is still 42" to the ceiling. If you made it larger, it could serve the same purpose for the big boys. I would go a bit larger on the hoist though. I tried mine single line first....and it would not lift the 70's. I had to use the provided extra pulley to run double line to get the 880 lb lift. I think maybe the winch specs are a tad bit under rated myself. The platform itself weighs around 60-80lbs so that would factor in on a bigger lift. A 1200 lb. unit would work great IMO...

Still is pretty awesome. Saves the back lifting or trying to push it up a ramp. Your always coming up with something cool. Cant wait to see what accessory you develop for TF14. Rickshaw, sidecar, what's next?
