Honda 1983 ATC Big Red 220E

    Hi guys,
Kind of a dumb question, but on my Honda 1983 ATC Big Red 220E the pull cord snapped. For the life of me I cannot figure out to remove the neutral indicator to get the recoil starter assembly off?

    Any help is appreciated

I think there was a little metal thing you had to take off first keeping it on. I can't think of the name of it for the life of me. But then you just wiggle it off like bigmac said. I used a flathead and some needle nose pliers. Don't use needlenose plies though unless you don't care if you mar it up a bit.

They are very tight. Remove the e-clip from the shaft and then pry it off. If you wind up wrecking it, and assuming you care, you can get new ones still from Honda for a few bucks. Maybe use a couple flat blade screwdrivers (one on each side) to pry it evenly off. It is a pain though...
