New to me Yamaha 225 3 wheeler

Im not new to 3 wheelers but I am to Yamahas. I just picked up a Yamaha 225 3 wheeler for a song and need to some help telling what year. It has pull start only and no reverse and it is 4 stroke. It is also chain driven. Any ideas? It appears to have the sky blue paint under a crappy homemade paint job.

Sounds like a 200. The seat would be blue and the chain not shaft plus no electric start = 200.

225dx has electric start plus recoil backup and the 225dr also included reverse if I'm not mistaken. Both fully suspended. I agree with him, sounds like a 200. Check on the engine to see the displacement.

Ok well I was just going on what the guy I bought it from said. Actually it look like the body was yellow and just the front fender is the blue. Im going to paint it a nice OD green and paint the rack and wheels black.

No shaft drive..not a 225. Confirmed 200!! Though they did build a shaft drive 200, they never made a chain drive 225!!

Grab the serial number from the steering neck if it's visible..we can pull the year from that.

Nothing really distinguishable about the design can help us with the specific year since Yamaha used the same design thru them all.

Most of the stuff is interchangeable from what I see. Anything you recommend keeping an eye out for? I have to put some brakes on it and maybe a little carb adjustment. It wont idle very well without throttle input
