So I was looking for a switch for my 250es....

I can't believe someone has this witch is why its probably so expensive. There has to be something with a choke on a newer 4 wheeler I could buy new?

What's wrong with your old switch?

What's wrong with buying a decent used one? I could get a 250es parts bike for that price.

I had to take it apart and clean the corosion off the terminals for the light on/off and its figity. I get it working good during the day then ride at night and have to mess with it. But the plastic is also faded. That and the dashboard are the only ugly things left on the machine and all the ones I see on ebay are even more faded. I kinda fell in love with this bike and want everything perfect.

Why put NOS on a rider? It's just going to get faded and worn like the other one. Save the NOS for the collectors and restorers that actually need them. Just saying... There are plenty of good used parts out there. Also with minimal effort, faded switch housings clean up nicely with some paint.

Find a decent used one from a different model, maybe a quad as they don't seem to be as popular as the trikes. The 86 Fourtrax 350 I'm fixing up has a similar combo switch with the choke built in.

Maybe like this one? Fourtrax 300. Connector is different but you could probably make it work and save yourself $100 bucks

I have a decent one I can part with. I may have more than one. If you are interested pm me. It's not like that one, it's the one that came on the 85 250es.

I bought brand new switch off ebay last year, I think it was for a 300ex, it was made for a 4 wheeler for sure; anyway, I used it on my 86 sx---looks fantastic!!!... it was brand spanking new & only cost about 60 bucks.... the only thing that doesn't work is the run stop switch- which I use the keypad for anyway (I don't know why Honda put a redundant run/stop switch on the keyed bikes anyway)... I did have to splice some wires , but I used the crappy, corroded, faded old switch wire ends & plugged it directly into the factory harness.

But being that its brand new, the light & start switches plus the choke lever work very smoothly

So you don't have the choke on the combo anymore for your SX? I know the 300ex choke is a lever on the carb.
