Thumbs up A NEW start, a Clean slate from a really Bad Situation.... Thats right... New Bikes!!

Well I guess the pity party is over with. All the hurt feelings, and dis-content with society is now gone for my loss of having all of our bikes and trailer stolen while moving across country. I'm sure most of you remember my post in here on this situation. I have went through all of the emotions of shock, anger, sadness, depression and well here's to the start of a new life. I started the process of selling off all my parts for my Tecate build and even got rid of the KX500 engine, but I still have tons of stuff left. I just got tired of it all and put everything to the wayside for several months until here recently when I was talking to my son Austin and he had said something about a Go Cart. I told him I would start searching for one but would not spend more than $200. I was surprised at all of the carts that are out there and found a few three wheeler too. Most of the three wheelers were pretty bad off though, but this once again peaked my interest. So I expanded my search areas and found a couple of bikes that were about six hours away. I called on them and got so excited I almost pissed myself. After trading a 30-30 which I gave approx. $200 for and I shelled out a total of about $550. Here is what my son and I drove home with late yesterday evening. A 1984 Kawasaki Tecate and a 1985 Honda ATC 125m. This is just the start folks.... I need to clean them up a bit more, and pick up a few more along with a trailer for my family, but this will have to wait until spring as you all remember I am active duty military and will be leaving here soon for a short while. I will keep everyone posted on my progress and any new toys that pop up. I'm back guys and so excited about where we are headed.

Anyone that has ever had stuff stolen knows somewhat what you went thru, it ain't good. Wasn't for me anyways.
So Kevin,,, back on the positive side ~ the fine looking 125 taking the place of the go-cart for your son ?

Those are two clean looking trikes from what I can see of them. Glad you can turn the page and start new, it would be a shame for you to miss out on something you enjoy because some jackhole ruined it for you.

Really like that T3, that looks to be worth $550 alone.

Yes Sir..... I just pulled the carb today and cleaned it..... OH MY GOSH!!! I have never seen something so disgusting in my entire life... One of the adjustment screws were bent, the bowl had some good corrosion....overall just pretty nasty, but it ran when I went and got it.... AMAZING!!! However after I cleaned it I could get it to idle correctly, so there is now a new carb on its way. I was amazed at how cheap they are on ebay!!!

Yes Manbearpig! I was amazed too!!! There is a HUGE crack and one side is almost completely broken off, but the guy I got it from tried some type of repair.... Nothing compares to a little Zip=tie stitching!!! It seem to be holding together great now.

New rear tires will be in the future for the Tecate, and I just ordered new front swing arm bearings and bushings...They were pretty sloppy!!! The center lug nuts were loose and do not have the Carter keys in them and It was running a little rough..... So personally I think it needs some GOOD gas and for someone to get on her and take advantage of her!!!

Yes, there are ALOT of Big Reds and smaller bikes... even a few 200x's.... but when you get into the 250's they are pretty pricey around here!!!
