Atc 70's bogging out once in gear'

I have an 82 and 84 stock atc 70's, they sat for a while, I cleaned the carbs, and fresh gas, they will idle and rev out, but when I shift into 1st gear they bogg out and die. is this electrical? any help would be great. thanks in advance.

Try gaping the points and replace the spark plug. I have seen condensers fail, the motor will run idle and rev but once you put a load on the motor it stalls. Does your motor have a neutral switch. Some of the Honda " replacement " motors had neutral switches. That may also cause a problem.
