Also the lower tree is steel and the upper tree is aluminum, is it possible for them to bend, yes but more likely they will break first as they are both casted and cast usually cracks before bending. Also when you have the rear end off the ground check for slop in the carrier bearings. when you have it off the ground take precautions and have it stable you really don't want it to slide off or lean to one side and take off on you while in first gear at an idle. LOL I speak from experience, Yamahas vibrate pretty good when running.
