Getting ready to upgrade tires on my 83 200e how do you think ride quality will be with these types of tires on the upside traction should be great any ideas or opinions

If be ride quality are you asking if the tires are going to allow the bumps to transfer with a spine jarring force to the rider?

Yes..due to the lack or rear suspension this is going to be a harsh riding trike. Regardless of almost any modern construction tire you choose this 'ride quality' will be a sacrifice!

Only tires like the Duro Knobby will have any qualities even remotely similar to the OEM tires.

As you stated though the traction will be a definite improvement!

I think it really depends on what you want to do with them. Bearclaws are a pretty solid tired & last fairly well IMO. Terrible to mount however...

Bear Claws! Great ride quality. Never have to worry about puncturing through 6 ply tires either! You'll go anywhere you want and then some.

Wonder how harsh ride would be slow riding on trails?

As I meantioned it won't be smooth by any means, not without a suspension under you!

But keep the tire pressure around 1psi and use you legs when the bumps come and you should still have your spine mostly intact when you're my age(46)!

I have bear claw rears on my 83 200e. I don't mind the ride, but I'm young and beat the hell out of my body anyways. I also have a 200x font end so I got some squish. These claws are absolutely awesome in the snow. With the narrow 200x front tire, I have to keep weight in back otherwise it dives into the snow. If weights too far back it'll pull up and stand on the rack. There is a very fine line to keep a forward motion at slow speeds, but faster it goes through 1-3 feet sticky powdery snow with a big grin on my face.

I like my 2 ply mud buster(looks like the old wooly boggers) the flex good and rides good the bearclaws are a lot stiffer but they do get softer with age.
