More than likely the exciter coil in the engine. Ohm it out according to the manual. If its good then check your wiring/ kill switch and then look at cdi. Same thing on my 84. The exciter coil is the same as the 82-85 110/125. I had some of those parts laying around and was able to transfer the coil. The parts are behind the only engine cover that has wiring coming from it. you will need to remove the flywheel. this will require a small 2 jaw puller. make sure you have flywheel in right position. There is the exciter coil and a lighting coil (i.e. headlight). if you insert the puller jaws in the flywheel slots while the slots are over the coils you can damage them. rotate it until the slots are between the coils. good luck
