    200x. Engine paint "oem"

Can any one recommend a paint that closest matches an original 85 200x ? Found an all original low hour trike but the damn engine suffered peeling lol... Trying to make it look as original as possible thanks

If you do the whole engine remeber to shave paint off of the head fins. looks soooo cool and that is an OEM detail

Hammerite satin black smooth, it's the closest I have seen to OEM finish.

I use VHT gloss black. It chips off mad easy and I even took it to bare metal, primered it, heated 400 degrees, painted and heated 400 degrees again. nicest will be powercoat if your fussy.

the VHT does not ripple off when you get gas on it however. I got it at autozone.

You bring up a good point oldskool. I was going to suggest powder, but I got beat up by some "professional" painters on my build because it's too thick and the engine can overheat.
I've had no problems with it, so I guess powder gets a Click image for larger version.

Honestly, I think that the flat one looks better, but it's your bike, not mine
