    85 Tri Z 250 Updates - Controls

The stock handle bar on the Tri-Z is hideous. I am all for OEM but it was a joke.

I love Protaper Fat bars. I have them on my bikes. So I took a gamble and tried the Pro Taper 1 1/8" bar mounts (not the adpater/risers), just the bar mounts. They worked out great. I also scored a cool handle bar pad that made Yamaha would use if this was 2013. I really like how it turned out.

I also slipped on the extra set of fork the PO gave me. The original forks were pitted and rusted bad.

The bars are ATV High bend. Similar height to the stock bars but alittle more forward reach. I was going to try the Raptor bend but those are like ape hangers.

Where did you find the bar pad and is it available in red/black? Thanks for posting your setup!

I got this bar pad used off good ole fleabay. I believe its off a special edition YZF dirtbike that Yamaha did in Yellow and Black. It matches up great with my 85 Tri Z!

I am not sure if Yamaha did anything with a red and black color scheme. Good luck and thanks for the comments.
