    86 atc 250r vs 88 trx 250r

    what do you think would win ?

    atc250r - topend port - pt high rev pipe - vforce 3 reeds - 38mm carb - cr250 head gasket

    88 trx250r - topend port- fmf pipe - 36 mm carb - boyesen reeds

    Im no expert but will say -The riders skill will be a big factor. Harder to launch on the ATC for sure! I usually 2nd gear launch. Or just race start at a slow roll. Gearing would be another big factor. Tire sizes the same? Any more details? IF the ATC has higher comp.,better pipe,bigger carb,lighter-it should win I would think. Altho the porting comparison could also make a big difference......
    Ah hell-Ill give the edge to the ATC anyway....

    the bikes sound pretty evenly matched. I am going to say it will come down to gearing and rider skill

    I think the atc motors had a bit more power stock, probably a few pounds lighter also, so its got the advantage out the box!
