    Tri Z jetting

What's the stock jetting for an 86 Z? I got it with the stock pipe an a uni filter in the factory box, it had a 310 main. I put on a dg pipe from xowner and it ran good but would eventually starv for fuel. I upped the main to a 380 and it ran better but after riding for 5 mins it will bog out and die. If I choke it it will barley idle and die when I touch the gas, upped to a 400 main and does the same thing. How should I jet and tune it for a full dg exhaust and open air box with a uni? Temp has been around 20 degrees

Mine was doing the exact same thing! Wish I still had it if you can get this figured out! I ended up selling it for an Fl250. I still can't believe I did that! >.<

To start a Tri-Z that has been sitting for a while you take the fuel vent hose out of the steering head nut and blow into it. This puts pressure into the tank and fills the float bowl that is too low to feed the engine on the first few kicks due to evaporation (I learned that AWESOME trick on here!!!!) Your trike will start in one or two kicks.

As far as your jetting goes it seems more like you need a fuel pump rebuild than a jet change. Deal with that first, check the lines, fittings and filters and THEN worry about your jet sizes.

Stop using starting fluid on a 2 stroke. Your going to seize it.

Are you running a Air Box Lid?
