** Audio Tube Hook Up Pics & Discussion **

Hey guys I recently purchased a 1983 185s that I am putting a back rack on and was wondering if anyone could help me with how they have kept a battery stationary that actually looks descent. Would like as many pictures as possible thanks

    Hi and welcome.
Search key should give you most everything written about that or any topic.

    185s with a battery?
    Sounds like a good idea.
What do you want to run off the battery. electric start? winch? floodlights and air compressor, cell phone charger are the popular uses.
I have a 185s that is scremin' for attention right now but the weather is not conducive to anything outside.
Pretty sure it will fit in my living room bu the woodstove however.

    Oh, try clicking on:
    service manual

    and please keep us posted.

ps - what's the audio hookup in reference to?
I have an inverter to run a pa system on one of mine.

By audio tube I assume he's talking about an atv radio. A lot of muddier a make them for the front rack out of really big PVC with speaker in the ends. Personally I would go with this...

It keeps your beer cold too. Maybe water beins beer and atc's don't mix..

I'm not trying to build one I'm just trying to see how people have secured small 12volt batteries to their atc's. I would like to secure a battery so I can plug an audio tube up to it for when I go on event rides. But if ANYONE has any kind of pictures on how they secured a battery to their 3wheeler I would be very eager and appreciative to see it.

I would go on ebay and try to find a atv/atc battery tray and try and fab it to bolt under the frame. That way its secure and you don't have to look at it...

Well your putting a rear rack on, so put it in the rear under the fenders. Weld the battery box on the left or right side, not many other options. As long as it clears the tires and out of sight your fine. Its a bare bones 185s, you dont have any other options really. I would say go with a self contained box like shown in the previous posts. Just WAY easier. If you had a trunk id say go with that.

I might make one and put it on the front rack, i like the idea. For the spring/summer though, not anytime soon. Beats paying $200+ for the ones they make for quads.

Good idea ghost. I was looking a few hours ago and was thinking about mounting a cross bar or doing some work to the frame where the brake light mounts. Then I could squeeze in a small 12volt possibly. Just worried about what the heat would do from my exhaust right below it. Do any of u think that would be a problem and should use a heat guard to surround the battery's bottom and sides or will the battery not be enough?

I would say stick with how the battery box is set up on the 225dx/dr, simple and out of the way and out of sight right on the left side away from the exhaust. If your going to do it the way your describing i would use a heat shield, couldnt hurt right?
For reference on how the 225's are set up, compared to the big reds where its under the seat. Im not sure if the 200m, 250sx, 125m are the same way or not. Never had one in front of me.
