    200es big red wont stay running

    i have a 1986 honda big red 200es that will not stay running it starts and will eventually die out it is hard to start sometimes and it has power but i dont think its reaching full power it takes a little bit to reach top speed and sometimes ill be going down the road and it will die out and then it will restart after a couple of pulls usually and ive cleanded the carb on it 3 times the oil is dirty with some gas in it it does not smoke what could be the problem

    gas tank vent no good or something is getting hot.
    Leave the gas cap loose and / or when you know it will run, hit a few different things with a hairdryer, like the cdi, coil etc.

    If you have gas in your oil then your flooding out.sounds like flooding symptoms anyway.check your float needle and see if its closing the fuel off.

    Are you sure its a 86 200es? They swapped to 250es in 85 except for a few overseas they made a 85 200es.
