85 tecate rescued needs reassembled
I just picked it up. has new plastic but bike is in boxes, always wanted one. did some trading so I have no money in it so far. has dg pipe stock carb and a flat slide also. will get some pics up by the weekend, will definitely have questions when I get everything cleaned and powder coated for reassembly.

congrats, those first gen tecates are pretty cool! looking forward to some pics when you get them up. And there are alot of threads around here with info about rebuilding them

do any other model flywheels fit these motors? off kx maybe? going over parts and no flywheel. new stator thou.

I don't know if the KX flywheel will fit over a KXT stator. nd4spd or someone else can tell you. You can also get new aftermarket parts from the link below.

A lighter flywheel like the KX is not recommended for recreational use.
It will reduce traction, increase the engines "toggle switch" powerband feeling, cause it to stall easier when braking with the clutch still engaged and make it a bit more difficult to ride in the lower rpm range.

All I use are KX250 flywheels, stators, and CDIs. Faster revving and less torque but everyone has their opinion. I just read a guy say he loved the KX setup in the heavier KXF four wheeler.
You cant mix any of the above mentioned parts between models KX and KXT, they are always best used as a set.

here are some pics. have tecate 4 parts also kips motor apart. some plastic pieces, and exhaust. also pro circet pipe for trx250r.
she definitely needs help. frame and a few pices are gone to powder coat already.
