    Homemade adjustable tecate dogbone?

A long time ago i remember seeing a thread that had the part numbers for an online store to get all the parts you need to make an adjustable dogbone for tecates but cant find it now. Does anybody have a link to the post? I have a 84 kx250 dogbone on mine but it is too long.

I believe Steve Virgil (spelling) made one. You might be able to find him on the Facebook group.

Did not think the dog bone off 1984 KX250 was adjustable, atleast the one one mine wasn't. I thought some people used the one off the 1986/87 Tecate with success? Those are real easy to find. I have a few.

It was either off a 83-84 kx250 or around the same year kx125. My brother parted those bikes out and I snagged the dogbone. I read that you can use the 2nd gen dogbones but I thought it would be cool to build your own (and cheaper) than buying a used one.

I made mine cut the stock one. Take a inch or two out of center then machine two slugs with a lip on end to slide inside tube. You must drill an tap slugs before welding in be sure to drill an tap thru the slug . Then get a piece of thread rod I used stainless steel 316 or 304 for mine but I work in a shop an it was available to me . You will also need two nuts for jam nuts . Hope this helps
