Why not just get a cheap 400ex if you want a quad?

I've always thought the conversions were really neat. They did fill a void, that's for sure. If a 350x on 4 wheels is what someone wants, I have a brand new Powroll 350x/250x-300ex conversion kit.

The conversion kits filled a void at the time and businesses that built them tried to use materials readily available at the time as cost is always a factor, not everybody can afford aftermarket frames. We see things differently at this date in time the technology along with parts and equipment have improved over the past 25 years, we don’t drive or own the same type cars as we did back then. I like how people post their distaste about something they never owner or ridden, I’ve owned two and they can be fun.

Never seen a trike fold in half, I guess if your jumping buses, seen lots of cracks, you need to do regular inspections, and for those people who do race and jump, how many use stock shocks?

The trike I saw fold over was a first gen 250R, he landed a rough jump with the front way too far forward nearly straight down (don't ask), and the front tire pushed inwards, bending the forks with enough force that it bent the frame inwards dislodging the engine from the font mount pushing it up into the seat and separating the frame from where the forks attach, just behind that right above the top of the gas tank thus folding over on itself and he nearly went over the edge of a cliff doing it after it threw him almost 20 feet. This thing was a wreck when he got up. But I do suspect the frame wasn't exactly perfect either, so I'm assuming that contributed to it. After that incident he swore never to ride another three wheeler, which is a shame.

I've never seen any trike or quad fold from a jump. Maybe a tree yes, but that's another story. Although I have folded a few moped handlebars against my legs. Those were some interesting runs haha.
