ID:	185032I finally got all the parts (all NOS Parts) for my speedo. I had an aftermarket gearbox (it's on eBay right now, no reserve) but found this set and wanted it all complete. I felt a little bad about tearing into packaging that was almost 30 years old....but...Looks pretty good all mounted up...it would just all eventually rust away and not be any good to anyone later...and that's why I drive my Big Red. It would just gather dust and be worthless in a few years, plus I am careful and wipe down everything after every ride. Click image for larger version.

And yes, my exhaust looks like crap right now, cheap OTC exhaust paint don't work....my exhaust wasn't in bad shape, but being a perfectionist sometimes has it's drawbacks. Now I need to get something done about that exhaust, but I want to do more research on the best exhaust paints and the best way to apply them..

    looks great!
i would have been hesitant to open it all up from its original packaging also But like ya said, Better to use them and enjoy them while we still have them.... what are parts on a shelf if they are never going to be used.

Here's one the latest pictures. I have more pics on my profile I believe, some prior to the addition of the accessories. As for accessories, It's got a NOS speedo kit, NOS headlight guard, and a front toolbox. I also have NOS rear flaps, a NOS rubber clutch adjustment cover, NOS starter cover, and will soon have NOS side moldings. Replaced all the stickers with the most accurate stickers I could find. They weren't in terrible shape, but had some nicks and rolling so I had to square em up. I have one more I need to replace on the rear box. When I got it, the racks had a little surface rust, so I fixed those first lol. The tool box was painted by someone prior to me getting it, that's why it's all black (originally there was sort of a white label on the side you can see in the photo).

Haven't had it out yet with the new speedo gear box to see how fast it will go. I had a buddy ride next to me on his scooter, we were at 30 MPH but then I ed it and I left him like he was standing still lol. I have my "rough" set of tires and wheels on right now so I can ride. The originals are tucked away for "special" days..

It stays inside a climate controlled room, my office, right next to my work computer...Click image for larger version.

Sweet looking Big Red , looks mint! You are right , parts are meant to be used as long as you keep your bike clean and don't abuse it. A man can have a "beater" bike that he can go in the mud and down on but also have a bike to show off and ride easy.

I don't blame you for using it. With the care you take, it'll last another 30+ years.

Now all you need is the search light!

Pics I just took...sorry to be an attention hoe lol, but I just installed the nos Rear mud flaps and of course went for a quick ride....helmet on...because I had to test the speedo as well. I got up to 45 and shut it down because my neighborhood street was a little too short for me to go any faster lol. Here she is after a run...

That's a nice machine you got there . Question on the toolbox, what type of hardware does it come with, to mount it to the front rack?
