    Tri-Z Coolant Bottle: 86 Bottle on an 85?

    This winter I picked up a sweet 86 coolant bottle repop from jswinehart here. Stop overpaying for 30-year-old plastic on eBay and get a good one from him! Anyways, I need to mount this up on my '85 for the spring dune season. I've been riding without one since I added a bigger carb and pod filter, but I'd feel more comfortable with some backup. I just wondered what people have done here to do the conversion. I'm thinking of making some kind of bracket that I can reuse the rubber strap from the boost bottle that is no long in use. I'm guessing you need to be able to easily remove the bottle to fill and to change jets. Thanks guys!

    well i could hook you up with a section of an 86 frame so you could cut the coolant bottle bracket off if thats an option for you.

    The bottle bracket bolts to tabs on the frame on an '86, right? Finding the bracket has been harder to find than the bottle for me. I could easily weld tabs on with threaded holes or weld nuts to the frame if I had the OEM bracket. I guess I'm looking for an OEM bracket or ideas to fab something similar. Thanks oile.
