Since you don't have one yet, keep in mind to look for an 83-85 200x.
The 200 Lifan is a bolt in, in every model. There are pushrod versions, OHC versions(which are easily identified by the valve adjustment caps), 5 speeds, and 4 speeds with reverse. As far as I know they are all electric start.

You had mentioned that you have a Chinese dirt bike, post pics please.

One issue is that the kicker rolls counterclockwise on the bike motors and the lever can hit the fender. I have no issue with this, as I just removed the lever and put it in my tool kit. If the starter should ever fail, I will just pull the fenders and install the kicker real quick. The starters are cheap and easy to replace.

A huge benefit is the electrical system. Instead of unregulated AC power which allows the lights that it can barely run to dim and flicker and pop all the time, it uses regulated 12vdc. The lights remain very steady at all times, and they last way longer. Be sure to replace the bulbs with DC units.

Need close ups of the dirt bike engine, and if you can, a serial number, or it might have the cc cast into the jug. Thanks

I hadn't seen the Gio model before, I don't know if we can get it in the u.s.

The engines I see so far look very similar in mounting dimensions to the Lifan I have. Looking forward to the pics.

I've done it and it was awesome. Mine was a pushrod 200cc version. Ran great and the e-start was great.

It would be nice to have closer pics, from down low so I can see the top engine mount. Or take the tank off and get a closeup.

That looks like a pretty nice bike to be dismantling.

It looks like that one is OHC, and if it doesn't fit an 83-85 200x, I'll be curious as to what else it fits.

If you show the top end mount on your engine I can tell you whether it will fit as well. If its actually a 250cc, and it fits the 200x, you are going to be one happy guy.

After doing some research, I found that the zs165fmm is a replacement for the cb250 thumper, and I do not know if it will fit a 200x.

The pushrod version you posted will fit.

Judging by the engine mounts, the zs165fmm looks close, but we need engine mount point measurements, can you get those? If you can, I have bare x frames and engines here to compare.

Wouldnt it be cool if we found a new engine swap option! Its a 223cc engine.

When I was looking for a engine for our Steens Taco I read that Lifan made the Honda GX line of motors and subsequently came out with their own line called Predators (Harbor Frieght).
    Same factory.

It may be this engine. Found this info on line http://www.crossfiremotorcycles.com/...engine-4t.html They sell the engines for $660 and they claim is a direct replacement for 200cc pushrod style engines for Chinese dirt bikes.
