I read at one point that someone had sucessfully installed a Scotts Steering Stabilizer on an 1985 ATC 250r using a Scotts universal adapter on 3wheeler.org at one point. But it is no longer accessable. Does anyone have one successfully mounted or do they have the Scotts mount part number?

braking bumps and acceleration bumps in motocross. into corners are the worst, tries to shake your hands off bars.

Finally was able to track one down. Even had the original Vintage Scotts Steering Stabilizer.

Thats not an old stabilizer. you can still buy those from scotts and a few other sources. They make universal bar mount dampers with weld-on post still.

Going to disagree with you on the age of the Original Scotts Stabilizer. I sent it in to have it rebuilt and it is one of the original batch of stabilizers. The bottom section is sand cast. When I called Scotts to get it rebuilt they kept asking for the serial numbers on the bottom of the stabilizer. I replied "It doesn't have any", they said "Maybe they had been worn away, go ahead and send it in and they will see about rebuilding it. Got a call saying it was very old as in the original model before they even added serial numbers. Top is machined aluminum and bottom half is sand cast. Most are beyond repair, luckily this one was not. Yes the new stabilizer will fit on it. Yes it works like the current ones they sell, no you can not still buy this one new and good luck finding an old one that works.

Thanks for the extra pics and history lesson! Very interested in one. Went to their site looking around. I am assuming the cr 250r works on the ATC?

Teaching quads a lesson
I put a WER dirtbike stabilizer on my atc's. Got stabilizer w/ mounts for $100, bought plate of steel, 2 6mm hiem joint ends, round stock w/ 5mm hollow center. Using a grinder,, drill and some bolts, got it on atc250r and atc200x w/o alot of work.

Not a Scotts but a GPR and I have not tried it yet because the bike is not finished.
