I'm trying to find a speedo drive. Anybody have any ideas or substitutions from another bike that will work? It looks like a TR200 Fat cat has the same. I really need some ideas.

Honestly, BARNETT (something) seems to have good connections beyond ours.......

He'll chime in if he hadn't already.

He sometimes has lots of great information!! No need to mess with the past.
All our government does is distract us while they steal from us, misspend our tax $ and ruin our country

Ok guys here's what I decided to do. Don't laugh at me!! Ha! It cost me about $6 to make this, and a few hours to do some minor drilling. The round plate is an electrical box from the "electrician" area at Lowes. From their hardware section I got the rubber grommets they are 5/16. I used a piece of flat bar as the main bracket. I cut the flat bar with my Dremel cut off disc. I then painted the bracket satin black. I appreciate how supportive you guys are! Thanks to you all. I tried to use the bracket drawing that Bruce made for me. Due to the hand guards /bars that I have it wasn't going to work out. I think it turned out great though for what it is. Tell me what you think!

I definitely like the angle you have yours set at. On my 85 Bigred with its factory mount it has always seemed to me like it was engineered by a non-rider + not really readable at a glance while traveling along down a trail unless you leaned forward and right to view.
So, you fab'd up a very usable mount for under 10 dollars ~ thumbs up !

Thanks John! Now I just got get the setup completed. I hope it's worth it. This is one of those things that people charge ridiculous amounts of cash for. All I've been concerned about is the effects of mud and water on the speedo drive gear especially, as well as the rest of the speedometer assembly. Do you take the speedo drive apart and maintenance it every so often?

    maintenance

No, never done any maintenance on mine so far,,,, been on my trike for 6+ years. I probably should put that on the list of things to do to it this spring when I get it out and ready it for ride season (the normal oil change, differential oil, air filter check/clean).
I am sure my cable could use a drop or two of lightweight oil dropped in from the top.
I know the best/easiest way to grease the drive gear is to remove the cap at the bottom of it and stuff grease (vaseline is good too) in and replace the pressed in cap.
I have had them things apart many times and that cast iron worm gear inside really don't take well to getting wet.
    Yeah, that's a darn good idea/reminder ~ thanks !

I was tinkering with the idea of making those drive gears at one time. There are some pictures of the innards of them if you want to have a look.
