Question Scored My Next Project.....Honda ATC 70, I Have A Few Questions

First, let me say thank you to everyone who responded to my "Wanted To Buy" post for an ATC70. Many of you were very generous with your offers.

With that said, I picked up a very nice original condition 1985 Honda ATC70. This is my first 70, so I have been using the search feature and I have been overwhelmed with information I have found.....I love this site.

I'm still not sure if I'm going to restore it, clean it up and leave it as an original survivor, or make it into a custom ATC70. However, no matter what direction I go, I will be buying some new wheels and tires. So, what do you guys recommend for tires and rims? Also, please tell me where to buy them.....if there is someone here that wants to sell some, let me know. I would rather keep my money in the community. Please help me out here. I’m new to the ATC70’s.

Nobody has any info for me? I tried a search, but I'm not finding a whole lot of tire and wheel info. I would like to widen the rear end too with some spacers or different hubs. I just need to know what my best options are.

    Anyone?

We have a member here that has a company make 70 rims. He puts up a thread when he does a group buy. If you want new rims and tires, there are sets on eBay with hole shots on them.

My suggestion is buy some 1 piece polished aluminum wheels from Xowner if he has any left. They are amazing. And I would go with stockish knobby tires such as the Cheng Shins.

These are the ones I was referring to. I personally like the knobbie tires for some reason better than the holeshots. Which is the main reason I bought them from xowner's group buy.
I can help you mount them as well. You have my number.

Thanks for the info and your offer to help. Since we don't live too far from eachother, we should hook up. I go to the badlands at least once a month or so.....Do you ever go there?

This site... http://www.hondaatc70.com/Pages/default.aspx has pretty much everything you can ask for regarding the 70. Once I get my 200x all sexed up my 70 is the next project!

Thanks....I found the site last week. I now know that I will be restoring the 1985 I just got, because it is worth it. However, now I need to find a basket case, because I'm going to build a bad custom 70 too.
