I actually just finished putting one of Mickey Dunlap's 350 kits in it and got it running last night. Lots more power now, especially with the 18% gear reduction I put together with the help of TheRealFatShady. Now I just need my pipe to come in so I can build the exhaust. Also put on a Foreman 350D clutch cover with the ports to run an oil cooler, the mounting for that is temporary at the moment, I will be moving it and adding an electric fan.

Wow that thing is sweet! Can't wait to see a video once it's finished. How did you put the 18% reduction in? Was it something you could buy or did you have to make it. I'd like to put one in mine if it's not too difficult. Love the build of your big green, nice job.

The 18% reduction has to be custom made by putting different gears on the clutch basket and the centrifugal clutch. A 54% reduction is also possible which I am considering making. I finally went and bought a new battery for it today. Having the electric start working again is really nice as this engine is a and a half to kick start with the high compression piston haha.

Oh I see. I guess I won't really worry about it yet. Im planning on running 27x9x11 silverback x lites on one of mine, so I'll see how it turns those.

Lol ya I bet the e start is nice to have back!

You should be fine with 27's. I ran the 27" Vampires I had on this on a stock Big Red for a long time with no issue at all.

Ok sweet. To get back on topic, how does your wheeler turn the duallys with the reduction and 350 kit compared to before?

It turns them fairly well with the 18%, although I'm thinking I may go to the 54% for a little more low end torque. The 350 kit made a huge difference in power, but I broke something internally the other day crossing a log so I have to take the clutch cover off again and go figure out what that was.

Turns out I broke my driveshaft, sheared it off at the rear of the extension, so that's an easy fix, just have to weld it back together. My pipe also showed up today for the exhaust, so I'm building that tomorrow, no more pierced eardrums from the 4" zoomie pipe haha.

I'd like to, if I can find some that aren't too terribly far away. I was planning on going to Mud Nationals this year but wasn't able to get this thing together in time. Hopefully I can make some events this summer once I get all the kinks ironed out. Might even try to make it out to Trikefest if things work out.

Speaking of progress, I fixed the broken driveshaft and put the swingarm back on, and managed to get the exhaust mostly finished this evening. I had to build a complete head pipe because the stock one swooped down too far and wouldn't go on because of the oil cooler lines. It's 1 3/8" to 1 1/2" pipe, through a 2x12" glasspack with a 2" stack. No longer ear splittingly loud, but has a real nice throaty tone to it. It even has a nice slip joint to make it easy to take apart should the need arise. I also took the gigantic metal rack and fenders I built off in favor of the much lighter stock rack, fenders will go on once the exhaust is finished up. Next thing is to build a proper mount for the oil cooler and install the fan, then I'm going to add some LED light bars and cooler mounts, and put a seat cushion on the trunk lid.

Please excuse my gnarly ass welds, welding 16 gauge pipe with .045 flux core wire is somewhat difficult haha.

Bonus short video of it running with the new exhaust. Enjoy.

More progress was made yesterday evening. I finished mounting the exhaust and wrapped half of it, but I need some bigger hose clamps to wrap the rest of it. Put the rack and fenders off of my parts Big Red on it, they're MUCH lighter than the big metal fenders I had. Stitched up a crack in them with zip ties. Having the stock rack and fenders on there really puts some perspective on how much bigger it is than a stock machine haha. I also built a good solid mount for the oil cooler, and put the fan on it, but I need a relay and some more wire to hook it up. Yes, I know it blocks the headlight, but I won't be using the stock headlight anyway. I have some LED bars on order for some much better lighting. All that's left is to build mounts for the lights, wire the lights and fan, and build cooler racks.
