That carb is good and you'll want a NGK plug. either DR8ES-L or a DR8IEX. the IEX is more expensive but a better plug overall.

PS, this could have been asked in your other thread.

I am not a tuning expert, so DOHC or barnett should explain based on your temperature and altitude. I think you said earlier that you were at 65 degrees @ 305ft elevation? If you dont hear from them within a few days here maybe send them a PM.

    Hi vince;

    We need more info.

What are the numbers on the side of your current carb or what size is it?

What type of riding are you doing mostly ie., slow or wide open throttle?

EXACTLY what mods does your bike have ie., high perf ex pipe, cam, piston, head porting?

CARB SIZES – To estimate the actual size of an oval bore carb it there is no size markings on it, you can measure the bore diameter on the outlet side then divide by 1.15

EBAY CARB SIZE – It is around a 21 mm.

JETTING - The stock Honda jets are 110 main, 40 pilot. Mikuni uses a different numbering system. See chart in link below. If the bike is stock and you buy a Mikuni carb that is close to the orig size, I would start with a 100 main and 37.5 pilot. If it has around a 97.5 - 105 main and/or 35 – 40 pilot, I would try those first.

    http://www.jetsrus.com/FAQs/FAQ_miku...ihin_sizes.htm

SPARK PLUG TORQUE – If plug has not been installed, tighten it finger tight then 3/8 [almost 1/2] of a turn more. Once it has been installed, only tighten it 1/8 turn whenever reinstalling it.

PLUG LUBE – Install a little grease on it prior to installation. This will help preserve your threads in the head.

PLUG PURCHASE LOCATIONS - I for one do not know if they sell it at auto stores, call for info. They might be able to order it. Any motorcycle shop should have it.

PLUG GAP - .024” - .028”. Be VERY careful gapping the fine wire electrode plugs because the electrode breaks VERY easily.

yes i told you that carb is smaller than an original one. it will not have as many peak rpm's or top end power with that carb, however it will run well up untill around 2/3 throttle. it will still run smoothly above that point but will just not have the top end power the orig size carb would.

    Ok the CA06 is a 22 mm carb p/n pz26.

You want this carb, it is 24mm. forget about the ad saying 26, they are idiots.

So Barnett,,, when are you going to explain to Vince that they are measuring and displaying the carb outlet side flange diameter, not the venturi measurements.....

Always research your part numbers before you buy.

A 22mm carb will decrease your performance, and will be difficult to tune because you will be looking for performance that just isn't there... Sell it and get the right size carb.

The PZ numbers most if not all sellers on Ebay are using are the estimated bore at the end of the outlet whether it is a flange mount or spigot mount. Some places list the "PZ26" as having a 26 mm outlet and the place in his link says it is a 24 mm outlet. It is a 24 mm so either the other places calling it a 26 mm outlet are wrong or his seller is inaccurately calling it a PZ26 and should likely be calling it a PZ24.

The end result of this is many people buying what they think is a 26 mm oval bore carb for example are really getting a 22.

As far as I'm concerned, these sellers got to close to the carb when they mesasured it and got it stuck up their outlet!
