Mark Weixeldorfer's Holiday Honda/Nicholson Racing Products Barker machine built/Keith Lynas maintained methanol burning 90/180. Actually, this bike had a 62mm piston fit before its last race in 1980 at Speedway 117, so its larger than 180. This bike has been sitting on its grab bar since 1980, until 2 weeks ago.
I am the current caretaker and will be future owner of this machine. This bike will be on display at the CALVMX 3 wheeler race this weekend.
Quick rundown of known mods:
-Hurst Airheart front disk brake setup
-custom front hub
-gold mitchell 3 bolt wheels
-custom forks built by a gent in National City, Ca. the name escapes me at the moment - Iron Horse i think
-chromoly Nicholson racing frame. extended w/lowered motor
-Barker machine built 61mm stroker motor with hi/lo cutout, clutch conversion.
-custom intake mated to single carb from set of 4 off of a honda 4 cylinder. set up for methanol. size unknown.
-custom exhaust. large diameter straight pipe
-Renthal bars
-twist throttle
i apologize for not being able to recall who made some of the custom stuff. The people who made these items were not big name companies and when Mark told me their names, i didnt recognize most of them. They were machinists and engineers working out of their shops and garages. This bike truly is a tribute to the dedication and innovation that happened in those days.
