Are you talking TulAmmo 7.62x39? Is it as dirty/sooty as Wolf?

LOKISBUDDY...556 AK....here ya go:

It's a win-win for our "fearless leader"...another restriction on ammo and another way to piss Putin off. Does anyone else feel that we're overstepping our boundaries a little bit here? I mean 95% of the Ukraine voted to be annexed...that's about as democratic as anything I know of. Am I missing something here?
Ragin' full on...
And just to be safe I picked up 2 spam cans of Mosin for $140 and 678 rounds of Soviet AK with a free ammo can for $199. Maybe I'm paranoid, but it's always nice to have a little surplus laying around.
Also, make sure you clean your barrels after shooting the surplus ammo...the potassium salts can corrode your bore. After shooting, you can spray windex or boiling water to neutralize the salts until you get your piece to the cleaning table.

It is highly unlikely that these calibers will be harder to find because of any sanctions on Russia by our government. Especially since most American ammunition producers make these calibers.
We covered that already. Domestic manufactured is about twice the cost of the Eastern Bloc import ammo;
There aren't any sanctions on imports yet . Right now the problem is RUMORS of sanctions. When I posted this, there was a run on these calibers, but it seems to have slowed for the time being. A lot of the online surplus retailers sold out of their supplies of 7.62x54r in a day when the rumors started.
I posted this as a heads up for members here because after the last attempt at nonsensical gun laws ammo flew off the shelves and common calibers like .22, 9mm, 45, etc. were hard to get and the price went up. .22lr is still hard to come by unless you want to pay 50-60 dollars a brick on Gunbroker and at gunshows, which is roughly twice the price. Some areas aren't as bad as others, but Cabelas sells out of .22lr in a matter of hours when it does get it.

Scooter , good heads up on the post , and I think your point was that paranoid response is again going to drive the sales of the Russian calibers if not all ammo , along with the chance of a boycott . I stocked up when no one was looking , so I'm good .
Its still out there , buy some FMJ to get you bye , or if the price is right get what you can .
I bought a USGI M1 Carbine a few years back . When I got it , there was no ammo to be found . 6 months before it showed up at $1.50 a round . I waited , waited ,,,,, it came down to $.50 per , I bought 1500 rounds .
As a gun owner , get when the getting is good .
Buy cheap, stack it deep
I've got 880 rounds of Russian surplus 54r on the way to add to my stash. I've had some MAJOR car repairs in the last few weeks that I had to pay someone to fix since I don't have the skills for transmission work. Once I recoup from that I'll add to my stash of 7.62x39.
M1 carbines are fun guns to shoot.

Thanks! Probably won't make it over there,too busy. I'm on Cabelas email list for alerts when they get some in. Nice thing is I can order it and then pick it up in store and not have to pay shipping. I have a good stash right now. Wish my Old Man hadn't retired from Federal Cartridge several years ago.![]()
